I-956, Application for Regional Center Designation

ALERT: Starting April 1, 2024, we will no longer accept Form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transactions, when filing Form I-956, Application for Regional Center Designation.

You must pay the fee with a money order, personal check, or cashier’s check only, made payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

ALERT: On Jan. 30, 2024, USCIS announced a final rule, published in the Federal Register, that adjusts the fees required for most immigration applications and petitions. The new fees will be effective April 1, 2024.

Applications and petitions postmarked on or after April 1, 2024, must include the new fees or USCIS will not accept them.

What to Know About Sending Us Your Form

The new filing fee is effective for filings postmarked April 1, 2024, and later. If you are filing an acceptable prior form edition on or after April 1, 2024, you must include the new filing fee.

ALERT: Dec. 29, 2022, is no longer the deadline to file Form I-956, Application for Regional Center Designation, amendments, as required by the Behring Settlement. USCIS is extending this deadline until we publish guidance that clarifies the requirements of these forms.

Use Form I-956 to request U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) designation as a regional center under Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) section 203(b)(5)(E), or to request an amendment to an approved regional center designated under INA 203(b)(5)(E).

Special Instructions

Each person involved with the regional center must complete and submit Form I-956H, Bona Fides of Persons Involved with Regional Center Program. Each Supplement Form I-956H must be attached to the Form I-956 and accompanied by a separate $85 biometric services fee for each form.
